We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Assistant Engineering Manager to help lead the team at our Greenock Depot. As the Assistant Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our workshop, meeting and exceeding targets set out for efficiency and quality. You may dive into challenging projects that will develop your engineering skills and experience, propelling your career forward in engineering and people management.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategically delegate maintenance and repairs, exceeding DVSA requirements and industry standards
- Champion a culture of unwavering commitment to health and safety, engineering legislation, and company policies
- Mentor and guide the engineering team, driving excellence in technical skills and operational efficiency
- Cultivate effective communication with colleagues and the Depot Engineering Manager to ensure seamless collaboration
- Stay at the forefront of industry advancements, continually sharpening your engineering skills and staying ahead of the curve
- Ensure the swift and accurate completion of engineering records, upholding a high standard of documentation
We need your expertise:
- Proven time-served experience as a PCV/HGV mechanic is essential
- Proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment, even under pressure
- A passion for developing others to enhance overall team efficiency
- Flexibility in working hours, demonstrating adaptability to the dynamic demands of the engineering landscape
- In addition to your valid and current UK driving licence, a PCV license is desirable, but don’t worry if you do not have this, we will train you in-house!
