We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Standards Auditor to join our motivated Engineering Team. This role will involve regular travel within our group wider network including our Midland Bluebird, Bright Bus Tours and Xplore Dundee sites. If you have engineering experience, a keen eye for detail and a focus on compliance, then we want to hear from you! This is a field-based role so based on your location you can plan your schedule to work for the needs of the business and your requirements
You will play a pivotal role in improving standards and compliance by ensuring best practice is adhered to across all locations within the network. Ensuring that company vehicles are fully compliant, safe and road worthy to DVSA and our own company standards. This role will also involve developing policy and process, writing reports, and carrying out investigations - don’t worry if you need some help with any of this as training will be provided and our amazing team will always lend a hand to help.
What you will do:
- Conduct robust engineering audits across the business
- Be responsible for vehicle file audits ensuring they are logged and filed correctly
- Make sure the company is fully compliant with DVSA rules and regulations
- Ensure MOT audits are carried out in a timely manner
- Support with rolling out continuous training within the across the engineering team
- Ensure that Return to Depot checks are being carried out at all locations
- Report to the Engineering Director all audit findings in a timely and efficient manner
- Focus on Health & Safety procedures working with the wider team to set standards rolling out best practice
- Be accountable and responsible for maintaining and detailing all vehicle audit/MOT progress ensuring documents are kept up to date at all times
- Conduct internal investigations as and when required
What can you bring to us:
- IRTEC or equivalent DVSA inspections training
- Be a time served PCV/HGV Mechanic with experience of managing workshop processes
- Good IT skills with experience of using MS office packages for recording and reporting
- A flexible approach and adaptability to working hours
- Hold a current and valid UK driving licence

- A salary of £42,000 per year
- A company vehicle or car allowance of up to £6,000
