Some changes to SPT supported services from 3 February 2025

Some changes to SPT supported services from 3 February

A new route 9, operated by Johnstone & Area Community Transport, is now running between Quarriers Village and Johnstone, serving Bridge of Weir and Brookfield along the way. Because of this new service, Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has made changes to services we operate on their behalf.

Unfortunately, the following routes will no longer run after Saturday, 1st February 2025:

  • Service 1 – Kilmacolm, Quarriers Village, Bridge of Weir, Brookfield, Johnstone
  • Service 2 – Johnstone, Brookfield, Bridge of Weir, Houston, Linwood, Johnstone
  • Service 2A – Johnstone, Linwood, Houston, Bridge of Weir, Brookfield, Johnstone

However, the 1A is operating an improved frequency.

  • It will now run every 90 minutes between Kilmacolm and Johnstone Station, serving Bridge of Weir, Houston, and Linwood.
  • However, it will no longer serve Quarriers Village and will instead go directly from Kilmacolm Cross to Bridge of Weir via the A761.
  • One early morning journey, departing Kilmacolm at 6:40 AM (Monday to Friday), will continue to serve Quarriers Village. This journey will operate as route 1B.
  • The 337 will once again start and finish journeys at Kilmarnock bus station, since works at the bus station have now been completed.

The 307/307A will no longer serve Mansfield Road, Braehead, Braehead Avenue, Calderpark Avenue, Calderpark Street and Calder Street in Lochwinnoch. This is due to the increasing number of parked vehicles along these streets causing access issues, making it difficult for buses to manoeuvre safely without the risk of striking a parked vehicle.
