We’re simplifying our single fares
From Monday 1st July, we are simplifying our single fares to make them easier to understand and to speed up boarding times. We want to make sure we continue to offer great value, especially for those travelling regularly. Check our range of unlimited day, weekly and season tickets here.
What’s changing and why?
On our frequent Switch 23/23A/23P and Switch 26 buses between Queen Elizabeth University Hospital & Shieldhall, Govan and City Centre some single fares will reduce. Meanwhile, the number of single fares will be reduced from 16 to 10 to make it easier to choose the right ticket for your journey. Most people will actually pay less for their journey but a few fares paid by very few customers may round upwards. Here’s a guide to our simplified single ticket range…

You’ll still be able to buy tickets on the bus using cash or contactless, or you can download the McGill's app for free to pay the easy way.
Finally, don’t forget that young people aged 5-21 and those over 60 in Scotland are eligible for free bus travel with a YoungScot or valid National Entitlement Card. If you haven’t already, make sure to apply, either for yourself or on behalf of your child here.
