We are looking for a Workshop System Administrator this will have you working in the company’s workshop and fleet management system enables full visibility, traceability and cost control for vehicle maintenance, defect reporting, stock control and purchase ordering.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced system administrator to lead the ongoing implementation of this business-critical application. It is a high-profile role working closely with members of the senior management team.
As the Systems Administrator for our Workshop System, your role will focus on ensuring the smooth operation, optimization, and ongoing improvement of this vital system. Key responsibilities include:
- System Implementation and Maintenance:
- Lead the setup, configuration, and deployment of the workshop system.
- Ensure the system meets operational requirements for cost control, stores, stock management, procurement, scheduled maintenance, defect reporting, and job card management.
- User Support and Training:
- Provide training and ongoing support to workshop staff, ensuring they can effectively use the system for daily operations.
- Act as the first point of contact for system-related queries and technical support.
- Manage user access rights.
- Data Management and Analysis:
- Maintain accurate records of workshop operations, including stock levels, maintenance schedules, and defect reports.
- Generate reports on key metrics such as costs, stock usage, and maintenance performance to inform decision-making.
- Integration with Business Processes:
- Work closely with workshop managers, procurement teams, and other departments to ensure the system aligns with and supports broader business goals.
- Oversee the integration of the workshop system with existing company systems and processes.
- Stock, Procurement, and Cost Control:
- Ensure the system accurately tracks stock levels, procurement activities, and associated costs.
- Support the implementation of cost-saving measures by leveraging system insights and analytics.
- Scheduled Maintenance and Defect Management:
- Ensure defects are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently within the system.
- System Optimization and Updates:
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve system functionality and efficiency.
Collaborate with software vendors to implement updates and new features as required.
What do you need to bring with you:
- demonstrable experience in configuring/implementing systems
- collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external)
- attention to detail and accuracy are vital for this role
- experience within transport sector and within an engineering/fleet/stores environment would be very desirable.
