Charity Fundraising Ball Raises Over £227,000 for Children in Hospital

The total raised for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity at its 25th anniversary event was boosted by an exceptional donation of £50,000 from Sandy and James Easdale of McGill’s Bus Group.

Glasgow, UK – 31st October 2026 – An incredible £227,026 was raised on Friday night at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity’s fundraising ball, held to commemorate the charity’s 25th anniversary.

The total was bolstered by an exceptional gift of £50,000 from long-standing supporters of the charity, Sandy and James Easdale of McGill’s Bus Group.

The sold-out event, headline sponsored by Wonder World Group and hosted by Greg McHugh, reflected on 25 years of the charity’s impact, before looking ahead at what the future holds for Scotland's biggest children's hospital. Partner sponsors included McGill’s Bus Group, Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust, Balmore Group Scotland, The McKnight Financial Group and the Scottish Police Federation.

Expressing his gratitude to those in attendance, the Chair of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, David Kennedy, said:

“Over the past 25 years our charity has funded more than £53 million of innovative equipment and services at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital. This would simply not have been possible without the exceptional kindness and generosity of our donors, fundraisers and volunteers, many of whom joined us at this very special event.

“My sincere thanks go to all of our sponsors, and of course to Sandy and James Easdale, who have steadfastly and generously supported the children and families we support throughout the charity's 25-year history, dating back to our days at Yorkhill.”

Sandy Easdale, co-owner of McGill's Bus Group said: “James and I are incredibly proud to continue supporting Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity as it celebrates 25 years of making a real difference to children and their families. We have seen first-hand the vital role the charity plays in supporting the hospital and helping to improve the lives of young patients.

“We are delighted that our £50,000 donation will go towards the charity’s new palliative care project, helping to provide vital support to children and their families at what is an incredibly difficult time.”

Guests heard emotional stories from families who have been supported by the charity and enjoyed a poignant performance of Caledonia from Scottish singer-songwriter Kirsteen Harvey.

Funds raised on the night will be used to bring life-changing services and equipment to the Royal Hospital for Children, ensuring that Glasgow remains at the forefront of paediatric healthcare.
