McGill's Buses celebrates three years of NightBus with £3 fares

Night-time travellers across Greater Glasgow can enjoy any McGill’s NightBus journey for just £3 this weekend as the operator celebrates three years of its late-night network.

The special anniversary fare will be available across all NightBus services operating on the nights of Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August, coinciding with the end-of-month pay weekend.

McGill’s launched its NightBus network at the end of August 2023, providing safe, affordable and reliable late-night public transport across Glasgow and surrounding communities.

The celebration also follows the recent arrival of the newly launched N26 service, expanding the number of McGill’s nightbus routes to six across every weekend.

As with McGill’s other NightBus services, the N26 provides a convenient late-night connection for people enjoying Glasgow’s nightlife and events, as well as those travelling home from work in the city and at major venues along the route.

The N26 service connects Glasgow city centre with Renfrew via the Hydro, Govan, Drumoyne and Kings Inch Road. It operates on Friday and Saturday nights, departing from Charing Cross (at the Garage nightclub) at midnight and then hourly at 1am, 2am and 3am.

Colin Napier, Group Service Delivery Director at McGill’s Group, said: “Our NightBus network has now been keeping Glasgow moving after dark for three years, and we want to celebrate that milestone by offering every journey for just £3 over the August pay weekend.

“Whether people are heading home after a night out, attending an event or finishing a late shift, NightBus provides a safe, affordable and convenient alternative to taking the car.

“We have also been delighted by the response to the new N26 service, which has created an important late-night connection between Glasgow city centre and Renfrew while serving the Hydro, Govan, Drumoyne and Kings Inch Road.

“We hope existing customers and those who have not previously used NightBus will take advantage of the anniversary offer and discover how easily our services can get them home.”

The £3 promotional fare can be obtained on board and will apply across the McGill’s NightBus network on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August.
