McGill's Bus Group Pledges it's Steadfast Support to the UK's Armed Forces Community

McGill’s Bus Group, the UK’s largest independent bus company, has paid tribute to serving military personnel and veterans as the country prepares to mark Armed Forces Day 2024.
On Saturday (June 29), Armed Forces Day offers an opportunity to show support for the men and women who comprise the Armed Forces community, from those in active service and their families to veterans and cadets.
McGill’s offers free travel on its services every day, all year round to serving military personnel.
In October last year, McGill’s – and its associated brands including Xplore Dundee, Midland Bluebird and BrightBus – signed the Armed Forces Covenant, recognising the contribution of the services and pledging to support this community wherever possible.
The company also offers free travel to veterans around special events including Remembrance Sunday whilst it regularly supports charities such as Erskine and PoppyScotland in their work supporting armed forces.
Alex Hornby, Group Managing Director at McGill's, said:
“Armed Forces Day is a hugely important occasion to not only mark the contribution of our Armed Forces but to celebrate the extraordinary work they do on our behalf.
“As a company, we have many colleagues who have been in our Armed Forces and their time serving brings many advantages to our business.
“We offer free travel all year round to serving military personnel and also seek to support local, hardworking charities such as Erskine and PoppyScotland wherever possible.
“All of us at McGill’s Group would like to say thank you to serving personnel, their families, veterans and cadets who should be very proud of their association and service and we hope everyone has a memorable Armed Forces Day this weekend.”
